## About
- Every year, during the third week of June, Fasano’s Patronal Festival stands out as one of the most remarkable events in Puglia.
- Festivities begin on Thursday with **“Aspettando la Festa”** — an evening of live music starting at 8:00 PM in Piazza Ciaia, followed by the enchanting illumination of the traditional lights, choreographed to music.
- On Friday, the celebration continues with the **Festival of Historic Parades of Italy** from 7:00 PM, culminating in the traditional **“key handover” ceremony** in Piazza Ciaia, where the keys to the city are symbolically given to the characters of the Historical Parade.
- Saturday marks the highlight of the celebration with the **Historical Reenactment Parade**, known as **La Scamiciata** — one of the most evocative historical events in Puglia.

More than 300 participants in period costumes march through the historic center, reenacting the victory of the people of Fasano over the invading Turks during the battle of June 2, 1678.
- The reenactment begins at 6:30 PM from the **Villa Comunale** and winds its way through the town’s main streets. The parade opens with flag bearers, drummers, and trumpeters, followed by nobles, knights, townsfolk, and soldiers — representing the diverse social classes of the era. Along the route, the battle is staged, culminating in the symbolic **delivery of the city keys** to the Patron Saints in Piazza Ciaia.
- The celebration continues on Sunday and Monday with **patronal festivities**, featuring street markets, live music, and a joyful atmosphere that fills the heart of the town with tradition and celebration.
